Based in San Francisco, Heather Hilliard Design is a full service boutique interior design firm specializing in high end residential projects. Heather and her team create elegant interiors that are both classic and modern. Her aim is to provide each client with the very “best” of their preferred design style. She has managed the interior architecture and design, furnishings, art and antiques for both local and distant projects from San Francisco and Hawaii to New York. Her work includes city, suburban, island, mountain and wine country locations; from large estates to pieds–à–terre.
Heather’s work has been featured in many publications including The Wall Street Journal, SF Cottages & Gardens, House Beautiful, LUXE Interiors + Design, California Homes, Traditional Home, Gentry Home, the San Francisco Chronicle. Many online publications and blogs have also covered her work.
Before founding Heather Hilliard Design, Heather led projects as a Senior Designer at The Wiseman Group, an AD100 design firm during her tenure. Heather’s earlier design experience includes work at Marguerite Rodgers Interior Design in Philadelphia. Heather began her career at the University of Pennsylvania’s Institute of Contemporary Art and later worked for five years at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She holds a MFA in Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a BA in Art History from LaSalle University in Philadelphia. As a graduate student, she studied the History of Modern Architecture and Design in London. Later, Heather studied Aesthetics and the Renaissance in Paris. In addition, she completed post-baccalaureate studies in art, architecture and design at Drexel University, Stanford and the University of California at Berkeley. Heather is an Allied Member of ASID, an Associate Member of AIA San Francisco and a Patron Member of The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. She has been on the Designer’s Circle for both the San Francisco Antiques Show and SFMOMA’s Fog Design + Art Fair for many years. Heather has been selected six times in juried competitions to design rooms for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
